BlackDog Training & Behavior proudly offers Delaware’s first and only fully reward-based Board & Train program, and we are one of the few providers in the entire Mid-Atlantic region. This program is ideal for dog parents looking to establish strong foundations quickly, for previous clients seeking to enhance their training experience, or for those who need flexibility when private training isn’t an option. It’s also a perfect solution for dogs needing confidence-building in new environments, and much more!

Our pricing reflects the expertise of our certified trainers, our team-based approach, and the safe, clean, and comfortable environment we provide for your dog.

BlackDog Facility - Wilmington, DE

At our Wilmington location, your dog will stay in a quiet, home-like environment on the property of our training facility, complete with access to a fully fenced yard, dedicated training space, and daily interactions with our team of experts. Please note, we accept only one dog into the program at a time to ensure personalized care, which may result in a waitlist for enrollment.

Each dog is provided with a private bedroom for rest times, equipped with:

• 24/7 pet-cam monitoring

• Comfortable bedding, crate or xpen as needed

• Approved comfort items like enrichment toys, blankets, and calming tools (e.g., white noise and soothing scents)

Program Duration Options:

• 2-week, 3-week, or 4-week stays

Included in the program:

• 45-minute “go-home” lesson

• 2 in-home follow-ups

• Detailed progress videos/notes, accessible throughout the program

• Ongoing updates and support from our training team

• Basic daily care, training sessions, playtime with staff and other dogs (if appropriate), and fun activities

Pricing:

• $1500/week

• 1-week stays are available only to current or returning BlackDog clients. This includes 1 on-site go-home lesson but does not include in-home follow-ups.

Farmhouse Pet Lodge: Half-Week Board & Train

At our partner facility, Farmhouse Pet Lodge, your dog will stay in a luxurious, state-of-the-art suite, setting a new standard for care and comfort. Farmhouse is meticulously maintained with cutting-edge UV disinfection technology and a fully automated wet/dry cleaning system. Their experienced staff is well-versed in dog behavior and handling, ensuring top-notch care in collaboration with our team of certified dog trainers.

The Half-Week Board & Train program at Farmhouse is perfect for dogs who need a quick refresher or focused training on a specific skill, such as recall, mat work, sit/down, or loose leash walking. Available Thursday through Saturday, this program includes:

• 1 on-site lesson at pick-up to transfer training skills

• Detailed progress videos/notes to track your dog’s improvement

• Basic care, playtime, and training with staff and other dogs (if appropriate)

Pricing:

• $645/half-week

Important: 

• To ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs at Farmhouse, dogs must meet Farmhouse's age and vaccine requirements. These requirements will be reviewed during your Initial Consultation to determine eligibility.

• Please be aware that Farmhouse Pet Lodge may not be suitable for dogs with severe aggression, reactivity, or significant fear/anxiety due to the high-energy and stimulating environment.
